A very well directed, we written, and reliably well acted on Redford and Hackman’s part. A story of lust for fame and fortune.
The cinematography of of this film must have been breathtaking for its time. Good acting. Just a boring film tho
Talented Olympic hopeful is also a pain in the ass. Not much of a story or maybe I was just too bored to find it. In short: yawn.
I feel like this movie (evn w/ the same cast) had much potential. There was something lacking. For 1 thing it’s paced slow for a racing film
Robert Redford’s excellent performance and the incredibly directed skiing sequences are what make this otherwise boring film very memorable.
Slow-paced story of a prodigy skier coming into maturity. Final race sequence is fun. Hackman & Redford squaring off is a great dynamic.
Thoughtful character piece about an intense, driven skier who’s good at literally nothing else but his craft.
