Great example of film noir. Dirty, not made by a big studio, just classic film noir.
Gotta be the best out of Poverty Row. Ulmer shows here just how effective you can make a film with the smallest budget and great talent.
Look past the obvious signs of age, and ye shall be rewarded with a unique, fulfilling film experience.
An American classic, just over an hour, it’s a powerful tale of love and tragedy. Ann Savage’s performance alone makes it worth watching.
It’s a nice little low budget noir. Good for at least one watch
A fun almost campy noir that in its last half hour almost feels like your going crazy trying to follow whats happening in a good way
For a short movie this had some twists and turns. Imagine being innocent, yet running from a crime out of fear. Only to then commit one!
I liked this. It felt like a tightly written ethics/morality quandary the way twilight zone episodes are set up. Both the actors were 👍
Dude really over thunk himself into doing crime
Despite the outlandish plot and some capital “A” acting, Detour ends up being both an effective noir and a really fun watch.
