Gorgeous movie with unique cinematography. The story is controversial but behind it has very human themes. The pacing could have been better
Wow this was a horror film. Watching this guy decay physically and psychologically throughout the movie was something else.
This is not one of the cases you say the book was better. Visconti is giving us Thoman Mann and not only Death in Venice.
Gorgeously filmed, slow-moving story about the body aging more than the mind. See Venice and die!
Utter absolute disintegration in the pursuit of beauty.
It’s a lush, romantic, haunted tale of forbidden lust, artistic impotence, and a life force slowly ebbing away in glorious decay.
50ish aristocrat arrives at summer resort, is enamored of boy he watches by the beach. The tragedy of isolation & need to repress secrets.
Perhaps I had the wrong mindset, but I did not enjoy this at all. Feels too much about an older man melodramatically obsessed with a boy.
Slow but beautiful movie
A moving, haunting, but beautiful film!
