I feel like Memories of Murder was kinda inspired by this, especially that last shot of Al Pacino
Pacino plays undercover in search of killer of gay men. Protested in NY during filming, same protestors stood on line to see it. OK Thriller
Not one of Al Pacino’s best... it’s an interesting plot, but you don’t see much action going on. It’s just Al going to different clubs..
A portrait of the 80’s gay underworld, Pacino shines in the role. A good thriller considering the time, though is not a great storytelling.
Friedkin had a talent for storytelling and could inject any story with energy & tension. The chaos of the gay BDSM scene is perfectly shown.
Quite a dark film that explores cultures that up to that time were taboo. In a gorgeous manner and dark tone it never shiesdespute this.

Saw this at an old buddy's place back in the 90's, & I DK why he had it, but we saw it, & wasn't impressed with it! Quite dull in my recall!
Simple story, very standard acting, repetitive too. Not the worst just nothing special
