When Betty Anne Waters' older brother Kenny is arrested for murder and sentenced to life in 1983, Betty Anne, a Massachusetts wife and mother of two, dedicates her life to overturning the murder conviction. Convinced that her brother is innocent, Betty Anne puts herself through high school, college and, finally, law school in an 18 year quest to free Kenny. With the help of best friend Abra Rice, Betty Anne pores through suspicious evidence mounted by small town cop Nancy Taylor, meticulously retracing the steps that led to Kenny's arrest. Belief in her brother - and her quest for the truth - pushes Betty Anne and her team to uncover the facts and utilize DNA evidence with the hope of exonerating Kenny.

Amazing performances. Great story telling about a true case of inspiring people.
Even if you know nothing of the true story, watch this. It tells a beautiful story of what family will do for each other. Well acted!
Fantastic acting, dialogue. Painfully grippingly story plot and characters. Definitely one of my favourite based on a true story movies.
remember this movie vaguely because i watched it with my grandma + one of the scenes was filmed in my hometown of Ypsilanti.
Decent drama. True story. One time watch. Not a court room drama. It's just story telling. So it's not that engaging and boring at times.
An inspirational tale that showcases determination and commitment, which was based on a true story. Swank and Rockwell are excellent.
Court mistakes is always a good core for stories
Strong performances but the little character development that is offered makes it hard to connect to the story and themes.
Good performances. The lack of character development makes it hard to connect to the story and central themes.
I was expecting a plot twist in the end tbh.
