Sidney and Dre can attribute their lifelong friendship and the launch of their careers to one single childhood instant... witnessing the birth of hip-hop on a New York street corner. Now some 15 years later, she is a revered music critic at a national magazine and he is a successful, though unfulfilled, hip-hop record company executive. Both come to realize that their true life passions will only be fulfilled by remembering what they learned that day on the corner.

Familiar “friends in love, but pretending not to be” story, but set in the world of hip-hop. The likability of the leads is why this works.
One of my favorite movies of all time. Friends to lovers, great cast, great music, so many hilarious moments. Just the best.
It was definitely cute & great chemistry between Taye & Sanaa! I love Mos Def. Miss seeing & hearing him. He’s very talented.
This was actually super cute. People just admit how you actually feel about each other and communicate please.
A decent romantic comedy that, at various points, will both appeal to, and nauseate hiphop fans. Good performances from Taye & Sanaa
I wanted to like this movie but didn't.... when it came out, the main characters didn't do it for me they didn't work together in this movie
This ending is straight up toxic. Nothing worse than a couple that can't decide on their feelings and ends up overlapping with partners.
Disappointing recycled story. And not too much hip-hop for a movie that is partly about that.
Cute, positive black love story
