During the Boer War, three Australian lieutenants are on trial for shooting Boer prisoners. Though they acted under orders, they are being used as scapegoats by the General Staff, who hopes to distance themselves from the irregular practices of the war. The trial does not progress as smoothly as expected by the General Staff, as the defence puts up a strong fight in the courtroom.

Truly a great drama about real story. To sum up this is a very dirty war. Enjoyed this outstanding film a must see.
Essential Australian classic. The underdog stares defiantly down the barrel of a gun in a fantastic drama about futility and empiric hubris.
Great performances but the pace could have been better. War morality classic.
In Australian war classic. Heartbreaking but brilliant.
First-rate performances from Thompson and Brown and innovative screenplay make helps make this one of the best anti-war films ever.
profound anti war statement, mediation on morality, and commentary on the relativity of truth. Great movie
Classic Aussie film. Well written and acted.
A great war movie showcasing the classical moral compass in which soldiers are forced to decide if just following orders is the right action
Some flourishes and inventions, but did a great job of portraying the events and the underlying ethical problems and subtleties.
A brilliant war movie/movie about war time. An examination of morality.
