In the 1980s, Andrew McCarthy was part of a young generation of actors who were set to take over Hollywood after a string of successful teen movies. However, when the New York magazine cover story in 1985 dubs them the Brat Pack, stars in the making suddenly find themselves losing control over the trajectory of their careers. Now, almost forty years later, McCarthy looks to reconnect with peers and co-stars so that together they can reflect on their respective legacies.

If you’re looking for a film with crew in every shot and a 61 year old man whining about a nickname he got thirty years ago you’ll love this
McCarthy ends up making a film that feels self-indulgent and navel gazing. He inadvertently ends up making the Brat Pack article argument.
If you want to listen to Andrew McCarthy whine for an hour and a half spliced with a few interesting interviews, it’s a good watch.
IMHO it addresses why they were called the brat pack.
I expected tons of old movie and interview clips and new in-depth interviews. Instead I was disappointed by Andrew McCarthy pitying himself.
So interesting to see how someone could misconstrue a time of such blessing off one phrase. Love their films. Critics be damned.
What appeared to be a good concept was completely ruined by excessive complaining on screen.
Well made documentary by Andrew McCarthy, though I wish he had been able to reach out to a few more of the pack
Felt more like McCarthy’s therapy sessions of being labeled “brat pack” and talking to everyone about it. But Rob Lowe’s the best!!
Moderately interesting peak into the psyche of a certain group of rising young stars of a specific era. makes for a decent nostalgia moment
