It’s just entertainment, some moral speech, good comedy scenes, sharp cast and surprisingly plot. Watch with no guilt.
Not fun. The characters are all horrible people.
Tom Hanks is horribly miscast, and is unable to produce the sleaze necessary for this role.

Unbearably awful. Poorly cast and terribly acted.
I never read the book so I can say, in its own merits this isn't half bad, a take on the grotesqueries of opulent living in the eighties.
A massive failure with enormous potential.
