A time capsule with imagery so vivid you feel like you’re there. Realistic, tense and definitely an inspiration for later crime films
Great noir elements despite everything playing about a bit boiler plate.
Better when you understand the noir genre. It's not for everyone, and the ending is a bit peculiar, but there is still a lot to like.
Definitely the best of the Xmas film noirs. Gorgeous shots of 1960s NYC Xmas from the perspective of a character having none of it.
Greatest movie you've never heard of.
