Love this film! Feels like real life. How your choices and personality influence your destiny and create a happy life or one full of regret.
Felt like theatre. A rainy afternoon film for when you need to sit in your feelings. Brutal naturalistic film making.
Intimate, Moving, slice of life drama infused with sly humor and fantastic performances by Broadbent, Sheen, and especially Manville.
An extraordinarily human movie, with characters and pacing you recognize and relate to—and are given a chance to empathize with all of them.
It shows the beauty of simple life, appreciation of everyday blessings, being "present". Shows kindness and balance in the relationship.

Incredible hyperrealistic writing. This themed slice of life is poignant with the rampant loneliness of its middle class characters.
The pace of the dialogue in the start is off-putting, but once it settles down it is a very touching movie. No action, no suspense.
Very dry drama. Acting is fine but it’s all in service of such a slow, dry film that doesn’t go anywhere
There's something about the Mike Leigh films which is most relevant in the society and the plot seems to be simple with deep study.
