A child to spike lee films, an ode to New York & strong black single mothers. It triumphs in filming & character relationships

10/10 This movie destroyed me emotionally. It feels more like watching real people experience real events than watching actors. Amazing

An emotional and complex tale about flawed people trying to survive, as well as the incredible power of a strong and fearless mother.

Anchored by such a powerful main performance, this feels raw and realistic and is extremely moving. Will be overlooked by awards season.

A struggle from start to finish, I thought it was a bit predictable until the end. 2 hours to setup one scene of pure emotion.
