In 1961, Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle played for the New York Yankees. One, Mantle, was universally loved, while the other, Maris, was universally hated. Both men started off with a bang, and both were nearing Babe Ruth's 60 home run record. Which man would reach it?

Barry Pepper and Thomas Jane take this movie to the stratosphere. One of the best baseball movies of all time!
Fantastic portrayal of the atmosphere of Mantle & Maris’ 1961 season chasing Babe Ruth’s HR record. Modest & self-aware w/ verisimilitude
Very good, one of my favorite sports movies.
Wonderful baseball epic!! Mantle (Jane) and Maris (Pepper) are catching Babe Ruth's home run slam record.
Great performances. Always thought Pepper was underrated.
Thrilling look at a historic time in baseball. Pepper and Jane are excellent so is the direction from Crystal who obviously loves the game.
It’s a solid TV movie about one of the most exciting times in baseball and an important period in American history.
A little sickly-sweet, but not near as bad as The Natural
This isn’t a vary well known movie, but once you watch it, it immediately becomes a classic!
What a great film. Especially for baseball lovers!
